Tlaib Recalls Receiving Death Threats on 9/11
Rep. Rashida Tlaib posted a 9/11 tribute on social media, claiming that the the Arab-American human services nonprofit organization she worked for at the time was threatened with violence following the jihadist attacks.
According to Breitbart News, Tlaib tweeted that she had been working at the Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services (ACCESS) when the 9/11 attacks occurred, and that the organization quickly began receiving calls from individuals “threatening those at ACCESS and the local community with violence.”
Nonetheless, she wrote, the communities “came together to mourn, to stand in solidarity with fellow Americans across the country, and to reject hate and the terror that comes from it.”
“As we remember all of the lives lost in the horrific attack 18 years ago today, let us remember to not allow this type of violence to divide us, but to stand united. We are stronger together,” Tlaib added. Let us also remember who attacked us on that day and why.
