Streisand ‘Passionately Upset’ by America Under Trump
In an interview with the UK Daily Mail, former superstar Barbra Streisand says the songs on her new album Walls reflect that she is “passionately upset” with the state of the Union under President Trump.
Her first album of original songs in over a decade were written as a protest against Trump, stated Streisand, an avid supporter of failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
“I believe in truth and that if I’m truthful in what I’m singing about, that comes across as being passionately upset with what is happening to my country,” the singer lamented. “I love my country and it’s painful to see democracy being assaulted, institutions being assaulted and women being assaulted.”
