Sanders Calls For a ‘Political Revolution’ to ‘Transform’ U.S.
Speaking at a rally at Denver’s Civic Center on Monday, presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders said this election is about more than defeating President Trump; it is about waging “a political revolution” to transform the U.S.
“I am here in Denver asking your support for more than just defeating Trump,” Sen. Sanders said. “I am here to ask you to help me transform this country and create an economy and government that works for all of us, not just the one percent.”
“I am here in Denver to ask you to wage with me a political revolution, which will take on not only the corruption of Washington but the greed and corruption of the corporate elite in this country,” he added. He went on to argue for making healthcare a “human right” and making “radical changes in the way we do education.”
Sanders’ comments echo those of Rep. Rashida Tlaib, who recently called for a “political revolution” to “completely transform” the U.S. They, in turn, echo former President Barack Obama‘s threat to “fundamentally transform” America.
