Rahm Emanuel Announces He Won’t Be Back
Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced Tuesday that he is not seeking re-election for a third term amid withering criticism over his administration’s policies and soaring violent crime in the Windy City.
Emanuel could see which way the wind is blowing. In addition to strong competition from his rivals in the mayoral race, Emanuel was also feeling national heat from Pres. Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani, who blamed the mayor and decades of “one-party Democratic rule” for the city’s rising crime.
