Gillibrand: ‘Reality of America Today’ Is It’s Not Safe to Go Shopping at Walmart
Wednesday on MSNBC’s Live, 2020 Democrat presidential contender Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand said that in the wake of two recent mass shootings in El Paso and Dayton, “the reality of America today” is that “it’s not safe to go back-to-school shopping at a Walmart” until more gun control measures are passed.
“We can do things to protect Americans,” Gillibrand said. “We shouldn’t be able to live in a world where it’s not safe to go back-to-school shopping at a Walmart or where it’s not safe to go to a concert. That’s the reality of America today. We need to fight against gun violence in all its forms, and we need to come together as leaders to get things done now.”
Unfortunately, the Democrat “solutions” to gun violence do not address it at its primary sources: gang violence and mental illness. Instead, the Left demands more restrictive laws, even the repeal of the Second Amendment, that will accomplish nothing except to inconvenience and punish law-abiding gun owners.
