Fonda Blocks Traffic for ‘Climate Refugees,’ Attacks ICE
Former actress and current climate change hysteric Jane Fonda participated in a traffic-blocking protest Friday in Washington, D.C. on behalf of “climate refugees.” While she was at it, she also condemned U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and big banks that do business with ICE.
“Many of the same banks that made billions of dollars financing the fossil fuel industry that caused the climate crisis — BlackRock, Wells Fargo and JPMorgan Chase — are now profiting off of climate chaos by investing in the companies that are contracting with ICE to finance border wall construction and run for-profit prisons,” Fonda’s organization Fire Drill Fridays declared on its official Facebook page.
This is the ninth consecutive Friday Fonda has demonstrated in climate-themed “Fire Drill Friday” protests. She has been arrested numerous times.
Fonda is best-known for her Oscar-winning turn in the 1971 movie “Klute,” and her treasonous aiding and abetting of the enemy during the Vietnam War.
