ACLU Running Ads Comparing Kavanaugh to Clinton, Cosby

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is running a series of ads in four states aimed at center-right senators who might be on the fence about Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

Beginning with, “We’ve seen this before–denials from powerful men,” the ads compare Kavanaugh to entertainer Bill Cosby, sentenced to prison for sexual assault, and former president Bill Clinton, accused by a dozen women of rape and sexual assault and impeached for perjury over the Monica Lewinsky affair.

The ad also includes figures made notorious by the #MeToo movement such as news anchor Matt Lauer and film mogul Harvey Weinstein, before including Kavanaugh. The ad then ends asking for each senator to “oppose the nomination of Judge Kavanaugh.”
