Khadafy Janjalani

Khadafy Janjalani (a.k.a. Daf, Pek) was born on March 3, 1975 in Isabela City, Philippines. He is the younger brother of Abduragak Abubakar Janjalani, the founder of Abu Sayyaf, an Islamic militant organization based in the Philippines with heavy connections to Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda. After a power struggle following his brother’s death in 1998, Khadafy Janjalani took over the organization. Under his reign, numerous civilian murders and kidnappings have occurred in the name of Abu Sayyaf.

Jamjalani was shot in the neck and killed in an encounter with government troops on September 4, 2006.
